The power of stories lies in its ability to first arrest listener attention, then engage and culminate in retention of what was presented. Every leader-manager is well served if they possess storytelling skills as part of their corporate competency arsenal. The ability to weave stories into corporate presentations elevates the matter being presented into the realm of an enriching experience.

This course equips learners with story telling skills and enables them to blend story narratives into presentations they make to ensure a long lasting impact on a target audience.

Description

Presentation Zen goes into a deep dive, experiential way of learning presentation dynamics and goes beyond the techniques of presenting into the actual storytelling format for delivering any message to any audience. The course will discuss narrative and the visual design strategies that clarify the role of the presenter and the presentation, giving a cohesive overview of how they interact. Frameworks and best practices on storytelling that lead to compelling visual presentations that stay in the memory will be discussed. The module will also focus on product story-telling. Students will receive guidance on how to choose a story for a particular situation model that will enable and ensure commercial success of their product.

Prof Rakesh Godwani

Rakesh Godhwani calls himself a nobody. After spending amazing formative years in great organizations in the High-Tech space like Wipro, Intel and Qualcomm, doing different roles in sales, product marketing and business development, Rakesh realized that his passion is to make other's reach their maximum potential and help fulfill their dreams. Nothing gives him more satisfaction than shaping the young minds and learning from them. Teaching has been his passion over the last 12 years.

Rakesh’s goal is to create a fun filled learning environment and create effective communicators, and sales/marketing professionals. Rakesh is an alumnus of KREC (now NITK) Surathkal, Class of 1997 and of IIM Bangalore PGSEM Class of 2004. He enjoys reading and indulges in food with the company of his family and friends. Rakesh currently heads IIM Bangalore Alumni Association, coaches entrepreneurs in the hi-tech space, is an adjunct professor at IIM Bangalore, IIM Trichy, IIIT Bangalore and SDMIMD Mysore, does yoga, cycles his way to work, earns a fraction of what he used to but lives a million times better.
